round 2?

Not the best, not the worst.... Tempest highlights. Curren$y over uber glue sounded awful live, but the recording clears it up a little. Some sloppiness across the board.

Where's saturday????

That none of these reviews can bring themselves to mention the clear highlight of the show.

That jam out of Munchkin into Caves is one of the best things they've done this year without question.
Morph>Catalyst was really smooth and Catalyst personifies 'trancefusion' in my mind. The Basis middle jam afterwards was a nice treat that it seems like barely anyone noticed

Loved Uberglue with Curren$y personally, but maybe because i actually like that guy and it was just awesome to hear him rapping with my favorite band? All i know is whenever he raps, i expect every bar to be preceded by a sample saying 'CANNON'

Well played Konkrete..Cant wait to hear another song jam into that ending instead of just an extended vamp on the same chords from beginning to end. It'll work great brokn up.

The House Dog was pretty good as well, got all hyped because i thought it was HDPF>Mirrors>HDPF which would have been way better but it still had a better 1st jam than usual.

GiG->Waves..pretty solid, like the Confro fakeout and they pick the perfect moment to steer away from it.
-loved- the weird 'outro' jam out of the middle of Waves. So glad to see them back doing that (see:2008 Waveses) instead of just inverting it and ending up in the same jam they just left. This is definitely the best way to use Waves in a setlist, imo.
Too bad they didnt drag the jam into the Tempest jam out longer, felt kinda abrupt and pointless. And then the drop into GiG was equally abrupt with a pretty standardized ->GIG ending for good measure.
standalone MEMPHIS encore..thought we were past these by this point, guys? Whats next, standalone Dribble?

4/5 1st set, 2/5 2nd.

Subject: wait for the second night
sat night was a lot better. This was a really not so impressive show (disappointing at e factory too... reminiscent in quality of the 08 jam on the river late night show)

morph>newsong>morph i remember was bangin as was housedog.

donde is one of their stronger new songs for sure. im not diggin their new direction at all tho. If you came away from that On Time EP with anything but a what the fuck... that might have been the first disco biscuits album you've ever heard.

Subject: Electric Factory Night 1
So this was my first time at the Electric Factory so right off the bat I was expecting a great time. Sadly the first night lacked serious cohesiveness. Barber looked so drunk I'm not sure if he knew he was on stage at points. The first set was pretty boring and went nowhere. I did like how they played Catalyst for the first time between a Morph. We all know a ton of people hate the new songs but as long as they use them in choice segments and not standalones they'll be fine. I'm digging Catalyst though, can't wait to hear it become a monster.

Second set started with Curren$y rapping over Uber Glue which could have been awesome but sadly it looked like they decided to do it 30 seconds before the set started. Oh well it was still fun. Konkrete is another song I enjoy but those lyrics just ruin it. Thank god once again it had a nice jam and sounded a little different than usual, nice and extended if you will. My favorite part of the night was definitely the next segment, House Dog > Minions > House Dog. Now we ALL love House Dog but when it's split up it works even better than just 20 minutes out of the set. As usual the > Minions was nice and dark and set the mood perfectly. Barber seemed more focused the second set and he picked up the pace. Then GIG>Above The Waves>Tempest>GIG really got me excited. Also that Confrontation fakeout was HUGE and it got the whole crowd going and then suddenly out of nowhere comes Above The Waves. Tempest as usual was a thirst quencher, I always love that bassline when it drops. >GIG was also pretty good, got a little boring though. M.E.M.P.H.I.S. was a pretty decent encore, nothing special but I always love hearing the song.

Sadly like I mentioned Saturday night's show was MUCH better than this. The 27th had it's moments but they were few and far between with many dull moments. Also I'm pretty sure I saw no tapers for the 28th so we'll have to wait a week or more for the SBDs to know for sure. Thanks for taping TJ!
